It can be accessed through this link on our website: https://oslchurchdenver.ctrn.co/directory/index.php. As we maintain Worship digitally, this Directory will be very important to access. Please reach out to Communications@oslchurchdenver.org if you have any questions.
- All email blasts and Worship/Zoom information will be sent through Mailchimp. Please reach out to Communications@oslchurchdenver.org for assistance and troubleshooting.
- If you know of anyone or has checked on those who are shut in or do not have computer access please send their name and physical address to Communications@oslchurchdenver.org. Opportunities to serve during these interesting times
The Pandemic hits all of us, but it hits the homeless shelters more. There have been sidewalk events held for the past 2 years that would accept donations, but because of the Pandemic, those donations and events have ceased. Please help fellow congregant and council member Dean Z raise $1,000 to buy 1000 pairs of socks to distribute to shelters. The goal is to have them distributed by mid-September. If you have $2, $5, $10, etc. to donate, please send to Dean Z. Please email OSLC915@gmail.com for contact information.
CHUM/WHI has a fun opportunity to serve for those not at risk of Covid. From August 3rd through August 24th CHUM/WHI will be holding a lunch bag collection. If you are able to participate please contact Diana at 303-832-4188 with the date that works best for you. She is trying to prevent overlap and keep distancing safe. Once confirmed, please deliver the completed lunches to 2323 Curtis on the date you signed up for by 11am.
Needed: 150 Lunch bags in total. Suggestions for the bags as follows:
-
Wrapped sandwich – regular bread, P&J, or lunch meat and cheese (no condiments, tomatoes or lettuce)… just plain.
-
A piece of fruit – (not apples)
-
Maybe a snack – chips, pretzel, etc.
- Maybe something sweet.
Questions? Please contact Diana at 303-832-4188
If you would like to be added to Diana Flahive’s email list to know how you can support her and her shelter ministry in other ways, please email the request to flahive@flahive.us
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is a member of Together Colorado. As such, we are connected to The Climate Justice Committee of Together Colorado. The committee calls on everyone to engage in the climate crisis. As stated in their principles of engagement, “the practice of faith holds moral responsibility to call all people around the world to use their voices, hands, and feet to live in harmony with planet Earth. This heartfelt unity between humanity and the planet draws us to our roots. We must stand up for the oppressed and abused; as we have for civil rights and human freedoms, so we must now do for our shared home.”
Action:
Public banking is a form of banking which allows communities to invest more equitably and is being lifted up as a means to better fund programs for those experiencing environmental racism. Prayer Requests:
As a collective and not being specific, please lift up a those who have been in remission and have had an recurrence of Cancer, we lift up those who have suffered a loss (job, income, family), we lift up that everyone stays well and smart during these unprecedented times, we pray for all small businesses and restaurants affected by Covid, we lift up marriages and health factors that are in question, we lift up the caregivers as they care for others, we lift up the first responders as well as the well being of the human race, we pray that we are given the right words and heart when we are faced with those who do not see eye to eye with us, we pray that we are willing to have those tough conversations that are so important to bridge the gaps of difference, we pray for those struggling against white privilege as an individual as well as group, and we pray that though we are undergoing hard times, that we all can rediscover joy under restriction.
Praise Reports:
We thank God for new job and business opportunities.
